My first attempt at modelling one of my characters in 3D. It's more fun than I thought it'd be, but also extremely frustrating. It's a slow and laborious process. It feels much more impulsive and creative to draw on paper or sculpt in clay, but the "undo" button is fantastic.
I believe the process must be quite similar to wire sculpting, but using an anvil as a tool. Hopefully when the program features become second nature I'll be able to go faster and more efficiently and intuitively.

Will keep posting the updated model; this is a work in progress and the head is nowhere near done. Lots of off-model issues!

Last week sucking down beers in the pub with Uli Meyer, Tim Watts and Elliot Cowan, I asked them to each do a quick doodle of our character. They don't know what the character is about, but that's the whole point; I wanted to get completely different ideas. I only told them keywords 'Brando' 'mafia' and 'retard'.
Sculpted angles by Tim.
An evil pudding by Uli.

A Brando and a muppet by Elliot.
